Canada-Wide Science Fair

About

Canada's largest youth STEM event!

The Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) is the premier national event for showcasing youth innovation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Hosted annually by Youth Science Canada, almost 400 of Canada’s brightest young minds gather to present their cutting-edge projects and compete for top awards. CWSF is the culmination of regional STEM fairs held nationwide, bringing together students, educators, and industry leaders to celebrate the power of curiosity and discovery.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and empower Canadian youth to engage with STEM through hands-on projects that spark innovation and creativity. The Canada-Wide Science Fair offers a platform for young innovators to share their ideas, explore new possibilities, and gain recognition for their work. We believe that every student has the potential to make an impact, and the CWSF is dedicated to fostering the next generation of problem solvers and leaders.

Our Vision

We envision a future where youth curiosity drives societal advancement and where the pursuit of STEM knowledge is celebrated and encouraged. Through the CWSF, we aim to build a community where students can explore their interests, grow their skills, and connect with others who share their passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

What We Do

The week-long event features:

Project Presentations: Students present their research and innovations to a panel of expert judges.

Workshops and STEM Activities: Participants engage in hands-on workshops, lab visits, and activities designed to deepen their STEM knowledge.

Networking Opportunities: Students connect with peers, industry professionals, and educators, creating lasting relationships and opportunities for mentorship.

Awards and Scholarships: Participants compete for prestigious awards, scholarships, and recognition for their achievements.

Why It Matters

CWSF is more than a competition—it’s a celebration of the transformative power of STEM. The projects presented here have the potential to solve real-world problems and inspire future innovations. For many students, CWSF is a life-changing experience that opens doors to new educational and career opportunities in STEM fields. By participating in the fair, students gain invaluable skills in research, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.

Our History

Since its inception in 1962, the Canada-Wide Science Fair has grown to become the country’s largest national youth STEM event. Organized by Youth Science Canada, CWSF has played a pivotal role in nurturing Canada’s future innovators, with thousands of students going on to pursue STEM careers and make significant contributions to their fields.
