General

  • Can anyone visit the CWSF?

    The CWSF is open to the public on June 5 -6 from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Registration is not required for casual visitors but is recommended for school visits. If you can’t make it in-person to Fredericton, we welcome you to visit the fair virtually!

  • How can I be selected as a participant for the Canada-Wide Science Fair?

    Students are selected from affiliated regional STEM fairs from across the country.

  • Is the Canada-Wide Science Fair bilingual?

    Yes, the event is bilingual and all content and activities are provided in bilingual format (English and French).

  • What is the Project Zone?

    Over 500,000 K-12 students across Canada participate in STEM projects. About 20,000 students present their projects at regional fairs, and the most outstanding projects are chosen for the CWSF. These projects are featured in Project Zone and compete for prizes and nearly 1 million in cash.

  • What is the STEM Expo?

    STEM-focused companies and educational institutions will showcase interactive activities and some provide giveaways.

  • When will the Canada-Wide Science Fair take place?

    The Canada-Wide Science Fair will take place for selected participants at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, NB, from May 31 to June 7, 2025. The general public and registered schools are invited to visit the fair during the public viewing days on June 5 – 6.

Visiting In-person

  • Do I need to register to visit the fair?

    Pre-registration is only required for groups. This is a popular free public event and we are expecting a high volume of registered visitors. To avoid disappointment, it is important to register beforehand. Groups, including schools/classes, without prior registration, will be denied entry if we have reached capacity.

  • Is there parking available?

    Yes there is! There is parking available at the University of New Brunswick, near the Currie Center which is where the Project Zone and STEM Expo are being held.

  • Will media be present?

    The event is open to the public and photography and video recording will take place. If you don’t want to be captured or featured, make sure to turn away from the camera.

  • Will there be any first aid?

    The Paramedics will be onsite.

  • Would it be possible to buy a souvenir?

    The CWSF store will be open for purchasing souvenirs. Items are available from $1 to $30, and payment can be made with cash or credit card.

Visiting Schools

  • Can I register my entire school to visit?

    Yes! You can register all your students and we’d love to have you come visit.

  • Can we use the PA system to gather our students.

    Around 2,500 visitors are expected to attend the event daily, which means it will be crowded. Announcements over the PA system will not be allowed unless it’s an emergency. It’s best to plan an alternative way to meet up with your group.

  • Do we need to register our class or school to visit CWSF?

    We highly recommend registering your class to secure admission. Maximum occupancy restrictions apply.

  • How many STEM demonstrations will be there?

    There will be two STEM demonstrations in the morning and two in the afternoon, each lasting 20 minutes. A copy of the schedule will be included in your onsite registration package. Seating is first-come, first-served.

  • I’m an educator who would love to visit with my class. Is this possible?

    Absolutely! This is an incredible event for visiting educators and their classrooms, particularly those in grades 6-12. More information about registering for a class to visit can be found here.

  • Is there a location for students to have their lunch?

    Yes there is!

  • Is there a set schedule?

    You can visit CWSF at your own pace, as there is no fixed schedule. However, a suggested itinerary will be provided. More information will be provided in March.

  • What should students bring?

    Students should bring a backpack, snack, and reusable water bottle as filling stations are provided.

  • Where is the bus drop-off point located?

    In the spring, registrants will receive a comprehensive information package along with a detailed map.
