How they’re selected to participate

The participants of the Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF) are among Canada’s brightest young minds in science, technology, engineering, and math. Each year, students from Grades 7 to 12 (or equivalent) qualify for CWSF by competing in their regional STEM fairs across the country.

These finalists represent the best projects in a wide variety of disciplines, ranging from environmental science to engineering innovation. Through their hard work and dedication, they’ve earned the chance to showcase their projects on the national stage at CWSF.

The real treasure was the friends we made along the way

By the end of the week, many students say that the greatest takeaway isn’t just the awards and recognition, but the lifelong friends they’ve made—friends who understand them, support their ambitions, and share their drive to make a difference in the world.
